Welcome to the MVMS PTC

Marina Village Middle School Community,

I have to begin by saying it has been my privilege to serve as President of the MVMS PTC! I’ve loved the opportunity to support the AMAZING staff, students, and families of our community! On behalf of the PTC Board, I want to thank our entire school community for their support of the programs and events we were able to provide this year. From basic membership to chairing an event, volunteering, or simply attending an event, your contributions of time, effort, and/or money make a difference in your child’s educational experience. Your support of the PTC expands all students’ opportunities for growth.

This year we were able to raise more funds than in years past and were able to provide some much-needed wish list items for our school. The two main fundraisers of the year were the “SOS” (Supporting Our Students) campaign and the Golf Tournament. Thank you to all of our donors and sponsors, without these two events we would not have been able to provide all we did this year!

There are so many dedicated parents and community members to thank, but a special thanks go out to our board members and chairs. THANK YOU to the following dedicated volunteers:

Vice President & Enrichment: Deanna Carnahan

Treasurer: Michelle Starkel

Financial Secretary: Caroline Beal

Secretary: Mary Beth Seedall

Fundraising & Spiritwear: Stephanie Hansen

Publicity & Website: Colleen Triana

Staff Appreciation: Debra Carlson

Volunteer Coordinator: Ruhi Shah

Beautification: Gina Johnston & Kathy Spohnholz

Golf Tournament: Kristin Frank, Lucy Wheeler, Michelle Starkel, Jen Ard (and your amazing team)!

Fundraising efforts allowed the PTC to fund the following:

Field day, spiritwear, student planners, classroom supplies, WEB program, Mustang Pride, student awards, Garden Club, 3D printers, Core3 workshop, Parent Educational Nights, classroom novel sets, PBIS (Positive Behavior & Interventions Support) incentives, Staff Appreciation (we showed the staff a lot of LOVE this year), calculators, hands-on science tools and equipment (microscopes, human skeleton model), 8th-grade promotion, and each teacher received a $200 supply budget.

Our biggest project in the works is funding a massive library refresh. The MVMS library is in desperate need of an update, which is budgeted at over $30,000. We were able to donate $12,000 towards this project. If you’re interested in helping make this refresh happen, please consider donating! Any amount will make a difference!
